Cutaway of a Wasp Junior radial engine: the pistons in the cylinders are clearly visible as well as the pushing rods coming from the basement to the valves.
The Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp Junior is a nine-cylinder, air-cooled, radial aircraft engines built by the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company from the 1930s to the 1950s. The engine has a displacement of 985 in3 (16 L) and a power from 300hp to 450hp in later versions.
