Artist's Description

The mighty S-64F (now Erickson Air-Crane) of the Italian firefighting is stationed in Biella. Despite its age, being built in 1970, was fully serviced and restored, I-CFAM is on duty delivering more than 10.000 liters (2650 US gallons) in its attached tank. It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney JFTD12A-5A delivering 4500 shp each!
Tradition wants that each of these beasts gets assigned a name. In this case "Aquila Rossa" as part of the team having native american names.

About Riccardo Mottola

Riccardo Mottola

I am interested in photography, mainly traditional photography. I use film and manual cameras since I was 8 years old. My father photographs, my grand-father was a photographer and taught me the essentials of shooting and processing, my great-grandfather took pictures and I am proud to have and use his cameras. Today, in certain occasions, I side classic cameras with digital cameras, albeit I strictly use them without manipulation. Especially for aerial photography digital is an useful companion. I mark images strictly with the medium they were taken in. Black-and-white images are shot on film, developed by me and either scanned or printed by me.
